Daniel Warren, a 19 year veteran of law enforcement, is a Special Agent Supervisor (SAS) with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). SAS Warren currently supervises the Public Integrity Squad in Orlando, FL which is responsible for investigating crimes involving public officials within the Central Florida area. This squad is also responsible for the investigation of “officer involved shootings/police use of force” incidents by law enforcement. SAS Warren has investigated or supervised over 100 officer involved shootings/use of force incidents and in-custody death investigations.
SAS Warren began his career in 1996 with the Winter Springs Police Department where he served in a variety of assignments including, Patrol Officer, Detective, and Task Force Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). While assigned to the DEA, SAS Warren conducted numerous upper-level drug trafficking investigations that included wiretaps, conspiracies, and importation and exportation cases.
While employed at FDLE, SAS Warren was a member of the Orlando Critical Incident Team and instrumental in the development of standardized protocols for the investigation of “officer involved shootings/police use of force” incidents. Prior to this assignment, SAS Warren supervised the Orlando Economic Crimes Squad, and the Fort Myers Violent Crimes Squad. SAS Warren also developed and administered the “Missing Link” Initiative which was established to assist local law enforcement with identifying the unidentified deceased in Florida.
SAS Warren is currently a certified Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission law enforcement instructor as well as an adjunct instructor with Valencia College and the St. Petersburg College Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training (MCTFT). SAS Warren has been a guest speaker at law enforcement conferences hosted by the Department of Justice and Fox Valley Technical College. SAS Warren was also a faculty member of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) Academies which were conducted across the United States. SAS Warren has instructed thousands of law enforcement officers in firearms, economic crime, courtroom testimony, missing and unidentified person’s investigations, and officer involved shootings/use of force incidents. SAS Warren has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida.
